Having taken an early retirement due to post traumatic stress disorder, caused in part by the events of 9/11, I focused on strengthening my family and community at that trying time. Finding that my retirement benefits were woefully less than promised, I started seeking ways to supplement my income while still being based primarily at home.
"The enjoyment of working with beautiful gems and precious metals, and to see a completed jewelry piece is rewarding. I would like to see this educational micro enterprise program brought to Virginia."
In addition to jewelry making, I volunteer as an advocate for people with mental disabilities in Southern Fairfax County and hope to establish a MKPiece program in that area.
